The massive leak of Modern Warfare 3 news probably prompted Activision to release the first teasers for the game earlier than expected. Activision has released four new teasers depicting four key locations in the game: The United States, Germany, France, and England. The teasers further the argument that Makarov is alive and well and leading an attack on multiple fronts against the United States and its allies. From the videos it looks like some of the massive leaks that came from Kotaku earlier yesterday are true at least in some respects. The logo which is seen in trailer, now looks to be official. As well as the locations that were mention in the spoiler laden leak. With Activision’s back against the wall, and a lot details out in the open about what in all likelihood will be the biggest game of 2011, you can expect a lot more about the title in the coming days. These videos have since been removed, but you can watch them below.

For those who missed the leaked story here's a quick recap:
  • The story picks up immeduately after the end of Modern Warfare 2. Price and Soap are making their escape to safety, but the Russian invasion of America continues.
  • The story takes in locations all over the planet and sees you playing existing characters and a cast of new Delta Force operatives. The plot revolves around attempts to track down bad honcho Makarov, hold off the Russian forces in occupied America, and bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The Russian President and a peace treaty become major plot points.
  • Price and Soap are present throught the story, but it seems that sometimes they'll be NPCs in the scenes that involve them.
  • There are 20 multiplayer levels. It's not known whether some will be DLC. Brooklyn, Africa and Paris are three locations, and all are also mentioned in the reported storyline.
  • Spec Ops returns, and there's a second mode this time, called Survival. It sounds like CoD's version of Horde mode, with multiple waves attacking a co-op team until the players are eventually overcome.
