If you have custom firmware you have a custom driver on. Press select and go down to PSP Drive or the such and change it to "Default" or "Normal".

yes i have cfw and to get to the driver do i go into recovery mode?

Either Recovery Mode, Or You Press SELECT.....
its working now but it wont pick up my wi fi signal now...

did u drop your psp? sounds like your antenna plug and your umd drive ribbon could have been shook loose

WTF???? On the left side of your PSP (2000 or 1000 version - Not sure for 3000), should be a kinda of a button, put that crap up! And you solved your problem!
